Friday May 1st 2009-- Agatsu Level 2 Instructor Certification

On Friday May 1st 2009 all qualifying Agatsu Level 1 instructors may participate in an Agatsu Level 2 Kettleblel Instructor Certification seminar with Shawn Mozen. Level 2 takes trainers from the Kettlebell basics to a greater level of kinesthetic awareness and physical ability. The program continues to develop the four main areas of Agatsu training: mobility, flexibility, power and endurance. All areas of training are presented with new material that will challenge trainers to become more athletic as they round out their overall conditioning. The course will run the entire day from 8:30am to 5:30pm and will cover the following:

Joint Mobility: Building on the principles and basics laid out in Level 1 this seminar will expose trainers to more advanced joint mobility training and applications.

Body weight Conditioning: If you thought the bootstrapper and quad hop of Level 1 were challenging you will love the body weight drills of Level 2!

Kettlebell Basics to Advanced Training: A complete review of the basics of Level 1 will be followed by an extensive look at advanced Kettlebell training. This section will include hand to hand drills, using Kettlebells with resistance bands, advanced two hand drills and more.

Teaching: All instructors will present to the group one or two bodyweight exercises as well as a Kettlebell circuit. Instructors are also required to hand in a training program for sport specific conditioning. The the training program should run approximately two to three pages in length and explain how Kettlebells and other training tools can be used to improve athletic ability in a given sport. Include pictures when possible. (pictures should be emailed to the office as an attachment not embedded in the document)

Physical Challenge: Level 2 trainers are expected to possess not only greater technical knowledge of training but also to have applied that knowledge to their own personal programs. A Level 2 trainer should be in excellent condition. To reflect this conditioning several benchmark workouts will be presented at the course.

Trainers should be prepared to do some or all of the following:

15 pull ups = 75% (women 10 pull ups =75%)
20 pull ups = 100% (women 15 pull ups = 100%)
